Transfer to Lombok
Rise and shine! Today we transfer to Lombok; a beautiful island just east of Bali. While every year millions of tourists are attracted to Bali, many places on Lombok are still untouched and mass tourism is still unknown there! Lombok offers many empty and often isolated palm fringed white sandy beaches, friendly locals, tasty food and fantastic culture! We’ll catch a fast boat over to the island, taking in the stunning views from afar! Once you arrive you will transfer by minivan to your accommodation with a short stop at a traditional Lombok village to get a glimpse of local life and culture.

Weather

Bali’s got that endless summer feel all year round. From April to October, it’s dry season, think blue skies, epic sunsets, and perfect beach vibes with temps around 27–32°C. It’s the ideal time to hit the waves, chase waterfalls, and explore rice terraces. November to March brings the wet season, but don’t stress, it’s mostly short tropical downpours that freshen things up and keep the island green. It’s still warm (26–31°C), way less crowded, and a vibe if you’re into laid-back travel and lush jungle adventures. Rain or shine, Bali’s always a good idea.

Getting There

Starts

Bali Denpasar Airport (DPS) We recommend arriving between 9am – 5pm on day 1 so you can meet your local guide in the arrivals hall. They will be wearing Camp Bali t-shirts and will be holding a sign (You can’t miss them!). If you can, we think arriving earlier rather than later is better to allow for some down time at the hotel before the orientation and evening activities. If you do not arrive in the selected window, you will be responsible for making your own way to the accommodation. Your local guide will be able to advise on this in the group chat. The evening orientation is usually around 7/8pm so we recommend you don’t land too late. The journey from the airport can take a while in Bali’s traffic! If you are planning to arrive a day earlier and want to stay near the airport in a hotel at your own cost just let us know and you can come back to the airport for the pickup window or meet us at the hotel.

Ends

Bali Denpasar Airport (DPS) On the last day of Camp we recommend a flight after midday, we have a final night out in Bali on the last day so give yourself time to recover and make sure you have time for any onward travel arrangements.

FAQ's
Money
The local currency in Bali is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). ATMs are widely available in towns and tourist areas, and most shops, restaurants, and hotels accept cards, though smaller markets and rural areas often prefer cash. It’s a good idea to carry a mix of cash and cards to cover meals, drinks, souvenirs, and optional activities. For convenience and to avoid high foreign exchange fees, many travellers use a travel card such as Wise or Revolut. This allows you to pay in local currency with minimal charges, and you can also withdraw cash from ATMs if needed.
Best Time to Travel
Bali enjoys warm tropical weather all year round, making it a great destination no matter when you visit. The dry season runs from April to September, offering plenty of sunshine, while the wet season from October to March brings short, refreshing tropical showers that rarely last all day. Even during the wet season, you can expect warm temperatures and plenty of opportunities to explore beaches, rice terraces, and temples. No matter when you travel, our tours are designed to make the most of the local weather, so you’ll always enjoy a mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation.
What does the volunteering involve?
On your Bali adventure you’ll have the opportunity to take part in a variety of volunteer projects. Depending on the tour you choose, this could include teaching English at a local school in Ubud, supporting a turtle sanctuary to protect and care for these incredible creatures, or visiting a horse sanctuary on Gili Trawangan to learn about animal care and rehabilitation. All volunteering experiences are carefully selected to be ethical, educational, and meaningful. They give you the chance to make a positive impact in the community while learning about Balinese culture and traditions.
Will I see turtles?
Bali is full of fascinating wildlife, and what you see will depend on the regions you visit and the activities on your tour. You can expect a very good chance of spotting monkeys in forested areas, sea turtles on the beaches, and a variety of tropical birds throughout the islands. While sightings can’t be guaranteed, all our tours focus on ethical and sustainable wildlife experiences. Our local team carefully selects activities to ensure encounters are responsible, safe, and enjoyable for both you and the animals.
Food
Bali’s food scene is amazing! Expect a delicious mix of authentic Indonesian dishes, local Balinese specialties, and international favorites. Try classics like: Nasi Goreng: Indonesian fried rice topped with a fried egg Mie Goreng: fried noodles packed with flavor Bali offers an amazing mix of traditional Indonesian cuisine and international options, so you’ll have plenty to try during your trip. Expect local favourites such as Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Mie Goreng (fried noodles), and fresh tropical fruits. Many meals are included on your itinerary, but there will also be opportunities to explore local cafés, warungs, and restaurants on your own. Vegetarian, vegan, and milder options are widely available, so dietary preferences are easy to cater for. For a full guide to which meals are included on your tour, check the day-by-day itinerary on your tour page.
