Is there a dress code?
There’s no strict dress code, but when visiting temples or cultural sites, modest clothing is required - that means covering shoulders and knees. We suggest packing a lightweight long skirt or trousers and a scarf or shawl for temple visits. Otherwise, dress comfortably and check the weather before you go.
What is the food like?
Bali’s food scene is amazing! Expect a delicious mix of authentic Indonesian dishes, local Balinese specialties, and international favorites.
Try classics like:
Nasi Goreng: Indonesian fried rice topped with a fried egg

There are also plenty of Western options and familiar fast-food spots, so there’s something for everyone.
Will I see turtles?
There’s a very good chance you’ll spot turtles in the wild, especially around Gili Trawangan. While wildlife sightings can’t be guaranteed, you’ll definitely see turtles up close during our visit to a local turtle sanctuary, an unforgettable experience!
Can anyone climb Mount Batur?
Absolutely! Mount Batur is suitable for anyone with a moderate fitness level. The sunrise trek takes around 2–3 hours, offering breathtaking views at the summit. It’s mildly challenging but completely worth it and our experienced local guide will be there to support you every step of the way.

What should I book first - flights or the trip?
We recommend booking your place on the trip first to secure your dates. Flights fluctuate in price, so it’s often best to book them later. Our team can help you find the best options once your trip is confirmed.
Do you cater to dietary requirements?
Yes, you can inform us of any dietary requirements before your trip, and we’ll make sure these are catered to. We also recommend printing a card that lists your requirements in the local language, so you can feel confident when ordering your own food. We’ve had plenty of travellers with allergies and intolerances, and we always ensure they’re safe and happy.
Is FurtherTravel financially protected?
Yes, we are 100% financially protected as members of ABTOT
Do I need any vaccinations to travel?
We don’t have any specific vaccine requirements - it’s completely down to personal preference. However, we highly recommend speaking with your GP or a travel health professional for the most accurate and up-to-date medical advice. They can advise you on any recommended vaccinations for your trip and help you arrange them if needed. It’s also a good idea to check your destination’s local government health website for any current travel or health recommendations.
When is the best time to travel to Bali?
You can expect warm, tropical weather year-round in Bali. The rainy season typically runs from October to April, bringing short, occasional showers with the dry season being May to September. We carefully plan our trips to ensure you have the best possible experience, whatever the season.
What happens if I need to cancel my place?
With our flexible booking policy we can move your trip date to another date within the same year, just make sure to let us know at least 2 months in advance! You can even change your Camp location if you fancy.
If you wish to cancel you can check out our T&Cs HERE!
You’ll need to let us know via email as soon as you can if you can no longer travel. We advise getting travel insurance to cover any unexpected events resulting in you being unable to attend camp.

- £49 deposit followed by monthly payments with the full amount in two months before departure.

We require an enhanced DBS check to join some of our trips, this is just to make sure everyone is who they say they are as a safety procedure. We’ve made this super easy for you, you can book this through us once you have secured your place. You are able to use a pre-existing one however it must be dated within the year you are travelling.
Are flights Included?
No, flights are not included because they fluctuate so much in price throughout the year, it works out cheaper for you to organise yourself and gives you the flexibility to book from wherever you’d prefer. We are more than happy to help you with this process and make sure the dates/times are all correct, feel free to reach out to a member of our team.
Should I bring a suitcase or backpack?
This is completely down to whatever you feel most comfortable bringing, both work well!
