Beach Day & Surf Lesson
To kick off the day with a splash, grab your board and hit the waves for an epic surf lesson on one of Bali’s stunning palm-fringed beaches! With a certified instructor by your side, you’ll learn the ins and outs of surfing, from mastering your stance on the beach to riding those waves like a pro. In no time you’ll be gliding gracefully across the water. After the surf session, you’ll have some free time to soak up the sun, chill out, and maybe even catch a beachside nap. It’s all about balance, right?

Taman Ayun, Tanah Lot & Sunset Yoga
Today you will be heading out to Taman Ayun, a major temple in the village of Mengwi. This temple is surrounded by a wide moat and is a beautiful example of Balinese architecture. Next, you’ll head to Tanah Lot, one of Bali’s most holy and naturally beautiful sites. This sea-side temple is perched precariously on an eroded rocky outcrop, connected to the shore only at low tide. It is a great spot to take some amazing photos! Later, as the sun goes down, enjoy a sunset yoga class on the beach with a professional instructor. This is a great way to relax and rejuvenate after a long day of sightseeing.

Volunteering at Serangan Turtle Conservation
Come join us in making a difference as we work together to save Balinese turtles! These precious creatures have become endangered due to human activity such as hunting, egg consumption and pollution of their habitats. Hence our mission to help keep these majestic animals safe by providing them with food and shelter while also educating others on how they can contribute too. You’ll get your hands dirty maintaining enclosures, preparing fish and feeding turtles, learning all about and participating in beach clean-ups so you feel connected with Mother Nature first-hand. You may even get the chance to release the baby turtles into the ocean (dependent on the season, additional charges apply).

Seminyak Free Day
It’s your free day to explore Seminyak on your own. The white sandy beaches of Kuta stretch in both directions as far as the eye can see. We recommend Seminyak Beach and Petitenget Beach which offer fantastic views of the Balinese sunset. Seminyak Beach is favoured because of the great waves that are most ideal for surfers. Wander the streets of Seminyak; browsing local boutiques and attractive galleries. Eat your way through the cafes, restaurants and warungs. Later, experience the vibrant nightlife and enjoy a cocktail or two as the sun goes down.

Transfer to Ubud & Volunteering
After breakfast, it’s time to move on to the cultural hotbed of Ubud! This awesome location features luscious rice fields, quirky markets and an abundance of Balinese and Western restaurants and cafes. Later, we will be getting involved with a community service project at a local NGO which takes care of young people with special needs. This is an awesome and rewarding experience you won’t forget. You’ll get involved in their teaching classes, or help with craft activities, painting, gymnastics or whatever else is going on in their learning centre. The local teachers & our guides will help you and this is a truly beneficial experience to this NGO. You’ll spend the morning here with a delicious lunch cooked by the children included.

Weather

Bali’s got that endless summer feel all year round. From April to October, it’s dry season, think blue skies, epic sunsets, and perfect beach vibes with temps around 27–32°C. It’s the ideal time to hit the waves, chase waterfalls, and explore rice terraces. November to March brings the wet season, but don’t stress, it’s mostly short tropical downpours that freshen things up and keep the island green. It’s still warm (26–31°C), way less crowded, and a vibe if you’re into laid-back travel and lush jungle adventures. Rain or shine, Bali’s always a good idea.

Getting There

Starts

Bali Denpasar Airport (DPS) We recommend arriving between 9am – 5pm on day 1 so you can meet your local guide in the arrivals hall. They will be wearing Camp Bali t-shirts and will be holding a sign (You can’t miss them!). If you can, we think arriving earlier rather than later is better to allow for some down time at the hotel before the orientation and evening activities. If you do not arrive in the selected window, you will be responsible for making your own way to the accommodation. Your local guide will be able to advise on this in the group chat. The evening orientation is usually around 7/8pm so we recommend you don’t land too late. The journey from the airport can take a while in Bali’s traffic! If you are planning to arrive a day earlier and want to stay near the airport in a hotel at your own cost just let us know and you can come back to the airport for the pickup window or meet us at the hotel.

Ends

Bali Denpasar Airport (DPS) On the last day of Camp we recommend a flight after midday, we have a final night out in Bali on the last day so give yourself time to recover and make sure you have time for any onward travel arrangements.

FAQ's
Solo? Couple? Friends?
Most of our travellers are solo, so joining a group tour is a great way to meet like-minded people and make new friends along the way. Travelling alone gives you flexibility, the chance to connect with others, and the freedom to follow your own adventure. If you’re coming with a friend or partner, just let us know when you book. We’ll make sure you’re paired together in the same room so you can enjoy the trip side by side.
Accommodation
On your trip, you’ll stay in comfortable twin-share hotel rooms, paired with another traveller from your tour. Forget hostels, our hand-picked hotels offer privacy, comfort, and a touch of luxury, with air conditioning or fans, reliable WiFi, and many featuring pools, gyms, or chill-out spaces. It’s the perfect base to relax after a day of exploring, making new friends, and living your adventure to the fullest.
Free Time
While our programmes are full of unforgettable experiences, there’s still plenty of time built in to relax, explore, or do your own thing. Whether you want to lounge on a beach, wander through local markets, try out a new cafe, or just take a quiet afternoon for yourself, the choice is yours. Your guides are always happy to share insider tips and recommend hidden gems, so you can make the most of every free moment. Free time is your chance to explore at your own pace, discover local culture, and create memories that are completely your own.
Arrival & Transfers
We provide an airport transfer on the day your trip begins. To make things easy, aim to arrive between 9am and 5pm on the start date. Once you’ve booked your flights, be sure to share your arrival details in the Manage My Booking area so we can coordinate your pick-up. If you’re arriving outside these times, don’t worry, we can help you arrange a private transfer at your own cost. Our team will give you all the details you need to meet your driver and get to your accommodation safely and smoothly. All in-country transport throughout your trip is included, so you can relax and enjoy the journey. We handle transfers between hotels, activity locations, and any pre-arranged excursions, using buses, trains, and boats where needed. Each tour page lists the correct airport to fly into and out of, so you’ll know exactly where to arrive and depart. If you're still unsure, just chat to the team!
Pre and Post Tour
If you’re arriving early or staying on after your programme, we can help make the most of your extra time. Extra nights of accommodation before the tour starts can be booked easily through us, just get in touch with our team. Planning to continue your adventure once your trip ends? Our travel experts can offer advice on the best destinations, routes, and experiences to extend your journey, so you can explore confidently and make the most of your time abroad.
Flights
Flights are not included in the trip price and will need to be booked separately. We recommend securing your place on the trip before booking flights, as availability and dates can sometimes change and flight prices can fluctuate. Once your place is confirmed, our team is happy to help with advice on the best airports to fly into, typical routes, and timings to ensure your arrival runs smoothly.
Luggage & Packing
Pack light, pack smart, and be ready for anything. Bring versatile clothing for warm days, cooler evenings, and temple visits. A sturdy backpack or suitcase works fine, and you’ll have opportunities to do laundry along the way. Don’t forget essentials like chargers, travel documents, and a good pair of walking shoes for exploring
Money
The local currency in Bali is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). ATMs are widely available in towns and tourist areas, and most shops, restaurants, and hotels accept cards, though smaller markets and rural areas often prefer cash. It’s a good idea to carry a mix of cash and cards to cover meals, drinks, souvenirs, and optional activities. For convenience and to avoid high foreign exchange fees, many travellers use a travel card such as Wise or Revolut. This allows you to pay in local currency with minimal charges, and you can also withdraw cash from ATMs if needed.
Best Time to Travel
Bali enjoys warm tropical weather all year round, making it a great destination no matter when you visit. The dry season runs from April to September, offering plenty of sunshine, while the wet season from October to March brings short, refreshing tropical showers that rarely last all day. Even during the wet season, you can expect warm temperatures and plenty of opportunities to explore beaches, rice terraces, and temples. No matter when you travel, our tours are designed to make the most of the local weather, so you’ll always enjoy a mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation.
Visa & Vaccinations
Visa requirements depend on your nationality and the country you are visiting. For UK citizens travelling to Thailand, you can stay for up to 60 days without a visa as a tourist. Border control may ask for proof of departure within that time, such as a return or onward flight. Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality and the country you are visiting. Some destinations, like Thailand, allow certain nationals to enter visa-free for a limited period, while others, such as Indonesia, may require a visa on arrival or in advance. It is your responsibility to check the latest visa and entry requirements before travelling. You can do this via the relevant embassy or consulate website, or reach out to our team for guidance. We also recommend checking with your GP or a travel health clinic for advice on vaccinations and other health precautions for the country you are visiting. Make sure to arrange any required vaccinations well in advance to ensure a smooth start to your trip.
What does the volunteering involve?
On your Bali adventure you’ll have the opportunity to take part in a variety of volunteer projects. Depending on the tour you choose, this could include teaching English at a local school in Ubud, supporting a turtle sanctuary to protect and care for these incredible creatures, or visiting a horse sanctuary on Gili Trawangan to learn about animal care and rehabilitation. All volunteering experiences are carefully selected to be ethical, educational, and meaningful. They give you the chance to make a positive impact in the community while learning about Balinese culture and traditions.
Will I see turtles?
Bali is full of fascinating wildlife, and what you see will depend on the regions you visit and the activities on your tour. You can expect a very good chance of spotting monkeys in forested areas, sea turtles on the beaches, and a variety of tropical birds throughout the islands. While sightings can’t be guaranteed, all our tours focus on ethical and sustainable wildlife experiences. Our local team carefully selects activities to ensure encounters are responsible, safe, and enjoyable for both you and the animals.
Food
Bali’s food scene is amazing! Expect a delicious mix of authentic Indonesian dishes, local Balinese specialties, and international favorites. Try classics like: Nasi Goreng: Indonesian fried rice topped with a fried egg Mie Goreng: fried noodles packed with flavor Bali offers an amazing mix of traditional Indonesian cuisine and international options, so you’ll have plenty to try during your trip. Expect local favourites such as Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Mie Goreng (fried noodles), and fresh tropical fruits. Many meals are included on your itinerary, but there will also be opportunities to explore local cafés, warungs, and restaurants on your own. Vegetarian, vegan, and milder options are widely available, so dietary preferences are easy to cater for. For a full guide to which meals are included on your tour, check the day-by-day itinerary on your tour page.
Transfers
Airport transfers are included on the start date of your tour. Once your flights are booked, please let us know by adding your arrival details to your portal, so our team can meet you at the airport and take you to your accommodation. If you do not require a transfer, simply let us know in advance. For travellers arriving earlier than the start date, we can provide advice and support to arrange transport to your accommodation if needed.
Group Leaders
Who are the group leaders? Your group leader is your go-to guide, mentor, and ultimate problem-solver while on tour. They know Thailand inside out, from hidden local spots to the best places to eat, and are there to make sure your trip runs smoothly. Think of them as your travel BFF who’s got your back 24/7. How big are the groups? Groups are kept small and social, usually between 12 and 22 travellers, so it’s easy to bond and make friends for life. You’ll meet people from all over the world, all sharing the same love of adventure and discovery. Can I get in touch with my group or leader before the trip? Yes! Around two weeks before your tour, your group leader will be added to your group WhatsApp. You’ll also be able to connect with your fellow travellers in our private destination-specific community so you can start sharing tips, hype, and travel excitement before you even arrive.
