Itinerary

From sunrise surf to sunset hangs, your Bali days are packed with unforgettable moments. Here’s the lowdown.

Day
7
Ubud
From Island to Jungle
Wave goodbye to Gili T because today we’re hopping back on the fast boat and returning to Bali. This time, we’re heading inland to Ubud, switching sandy island paths for rice fields and jungle scenery. We’ll arrive in the afternoon, and after the journey, the rest of the day is completely open. Head out and get your first look around Ubud, browse the local markets, hunt down a good cafe or make a beeline for the hotel pool. There’s loads happening here, but with a full day of exploring coming up tomorrow, you might want to save some energy too.

Ubud
A Day That Matters
This day looks a little different, and that’s exactly what makes it special. We’re heading to a local NGO learning centre that supports people with additional needs, where we’ll spend the day joining in with the activities already taking place. With the local teachers leading the way, you could find yourself helping out in classes, getting creative with arts and crafts, picking up a paintbrush or even joining a gymnastics session. Every day at the centre is different, so come ready to get involved with whatever they have planned. More than anything, today is about spending time together, learning from the people you meet and supporting the brilliant work that’s already happening within the local community. It might be a change from the beaches and boat trips, but it could easily become one of your favourite days of the trip.

Ubud
Monkeys, Temples & Rice Terraces
Today we’re getting properly stuck into Ubud, and there’s a lot to fit in. First up, we’re heading into the Sacred Monkey Forest, where hundreds of long-tailed macaques roam between ancient temples and towering jungle trees. Keep hold of your belongings because these guys have a reputation for being very curious! Next, we’ll swap mischievous monkeys for something a little more peaceful at Tirta Empul, one of Bali’s most sacred water temples. Watch the traditional purification rituals and learn more about the beliefs and traditions behind them. Then it’s on to Tegalalang Rice Terraces, with incredible views across the bright green rice fields and surrounding jungle. By the time we’re finished, you’ll have seen three completely different sides of Ubud, and probably taken enough photos to prove it.

Canggu
A Wild Ride to Canggu
Breakfast done, life jacket on, paddle in hand… Today’s starting with a serious dose of adrenaline as we take on Bali’s white water rapids! Jump into your raft and get ready to navigate your way down the river, surrounded by jungle scenery and plenty of splashes along the way. Once we are back on solid ground, the day takes a completely different turn as we head to Tanah Lot, one of Bali’s most famous temples. Perched on a rocky island just off the coast, it’s an amazing place to be as the sun begins to set over the ocean. We’ll spend some time exploring and watching the evening roll in before setting off for Canggu. By tonight, we’ll be checked into our next stay with a whole new part of Bali waiting outside. After rapids, temples and sunset views, it’s safe to say we’ve earned a good night’s sleep!

The Bali Send Off
Somehow, we’ve made it to the final full day. Luckily, there’s still plenty of time to squeeze a little more out of Bali before anyone starts thinking about packing their suitcase. The daytime is completely free, so spend it however you fancy. Head out and explore more of Canggu, find somewhere good for a smoothie, hit the beach or claim a spot by the hotel pool. If you’re around later in the afternoon, we’ll come together for a yoga session to stretch out after eleven days of surfing, cycling, snorkelling and rafting. Your body will probably thank you for this one! Tonight, we’re getting everyone together one last time for our farewell dinner. Good food, your travel family and one final evening in Bali together. After everything we’ve packed into this trip, there’s plenty to celebrate!

Bali: Completed It!
And just like that, 12 days of Bali adventures are officially complete. From surfboards and sea turtles to island hopping, volunteering and white water rapids, you’ve certainly made the most of this one! Today, everyone will begin heading their separate ways, whether that means catching a flight home or carrying on to somewhere new. Say your goodbyes, make sure you haven’t left anything by the pool and start planning that reunion trip in the group chat. Bali might be finished for now, but we have a feeling your adventures are only just getting started. Where to next?

Weather

No matter when you visit, Bali shines all year round. Expect warm temperatures, tropical scenery and plenty of sunshine. From April to October, the dry season brings temperatures of 27–32°C, along with blue skies, calm seas and ideal conditions for beach days, island hopping, snorkelling and Bali's famous surf breaks. Visiting between November and March? You'll still enjoy warm temperatures of 26–31°C, with the occasional tropical downpour keeping the island lush and green. The rain usually passes quickly, leaving plenty of time to get back out exploring, while quieter beaches and fewer crowds let you experience a more relaxed side of Bali.

Getting There

Starts

Your Bali Adventure begins at Bali Denpasar Airport (DPS). We recommend booking a flight that lands between 9:00am and 5:00pm on Day 1, where your local guide will be waiting in the arrivals hall with a Further Travel sign (you won't miss them!). If possible, we'd recommend arriving earlier in the day to give yourself time to settle into the hotel before the evening orientation and your first night with the group. Please note that Bali's traffic can be unpredictable, so we don't recommend arriving too late. If your flight arrives outside of the recommended pickup window, you'll need to make your own way to the hotel. Don't worry though – your local guide will be on hand in the group chat to help you arrange this. Arriving a day early? Let us know! We'd be happy to recommend somewhere to stay near the airport. You can then either return to the airport during the pickup window or meet the group at the hotel.

Ends

Your Bali Island Hopper finishes at your hotel in Seminyak on Day 20. We recommend booking a flight that departs after 12:00pm on your final day, giving you plenty of time to check out and make your own way to Bali Denpasar Airport (DPS) after your final night celebrating with the group. If you're continuing your travels, Bali is also a great place to extend your adventure, so feel free to ask us for recommendations before you go!

FAQ's
Money
The local currency in Bali is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). ATMs are widely available in towns and tourist areas, and most shops, restaurants, and hotels accept cards, though smaller markets and rural areas often prefer cash. It’s a good idea to carry a mix of cash and cards to cover meals, drinks, souvenirs, and optional activities. For convenience and to avoid high foreign exchange fees, many travellers use a travel card such as Wise or Revolut. This allows you to pay in local currency with minimal charges, and you can also withdraw cash from ATMs if needed.
Best Time to Travel
Bali enjoys warm tropical weather all year round, making it a great destination no matter when you visit. The dry season runs from April to September, offering plenty of sunshine, while the wet season from October to March brings short, refreshing tropical showers that rarely last all day. Even during the wet season, you can expect warm temperatures and plenty of opportunities to explore beaches, rice terraces, and temples. No matter when you travel, our tours are designed to make the most of the local weather, so you’ll always enjoy a mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation.
Wildlife
Bali is full of fascinating wildlife, and what you see will depend on the regions you visit and the activities on your tour. You can expect a very good chance of spotting monkeys in forested areas, sea turtles on the beaches, and a variety of tropical birds throughout the islands. While sightings can’t be guaranteed, all our tours focus on ethical and sustainable wildlife experiences. Our local team carefully selects activities to ensure encounters are responsible, safe, and enjoyable for both you and the animals.
Food
Bali’s food scene is amazing! Expect a delicious mix of authentic Indonesian dishes, local Balinese specialties, and international favorites. Try classics like: Nasi Goreng: Indonesian fried rice topped with a fried egg Mie Goreng: fried noodles packed with flavor Bali offers an amazing mix of traditional Indonesian cuisine and international options, so you’ll have plenty to try during your trip. Expect local favourites such as Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Mie Goreng (fried noodles), and fresh tropical fruits. Many meals are included on your itinerary, but there will also be opportunities to explore local cafés, warungs, and restaurants on your own. Vegetarian, vegan, and milder options are widely available, so dietary preferences are easy to cater for. For a full guide to which meals are included on your tour, check the day-by-day itinerary on your tour page.
Solo? Couple? Friends?
Most of our travellers are solo, so joining a group tour is a great way to meet like-minded people and make new friends along the way. Travelling alone gives you flexibility, the chance to connect with others, and the freedom to follow your own adventure. If you’re coming with a friend or partner, just let us know when you book. We’ll make sure you’re paired together in the same room so you can enjoy the trip side by side.
Accommodation
On your trip, you’ll stay in comfortable twin-share hotel rooms, paired with another traveller from your tour. Forget hostels, our hand-picked hotels offer privacy, comfort, and a touch of luxury, with air conditioning or fans, reliable WiFi, and many featuring pools, gyms, or chill-out spaces. It’s the perfect base to relax after a day of exploring, making new friends, and living your adventure to the fullest.
Free Time
While our programmes are full of unforgettable experiences, there’s still plenty of time built in to relax, explore, or do your own thing. Whether you want to lounge on a beach, wander through local markets, try out a new cafe, or just take a quiet afternoon for yourself, the choice is yours. Your guides are always happy to share insider tips and recommend hidden gems, so you can make the most of every free moment. Free time is your chance to explore at your own pace, discover local culture, and create memories that are completely your own.
Pre and Post Tour
If you’re arriving early or staying on after your programme, we can help make the most of your extra time. Extra nights of accommodation before the tour starts can be booked easily through us, just get in touch with our team. Planning to continue your adventure once your trip ends? Our travel experts can offer advice on the best destinations, routes, and experiences to extend your journey, so you can explore confidently and make the most of your time abroad.
Arrival & Transfers
We provide an airport transfer on the day your trip begins. To make things easy, aim to arrive between 9am and 5pm on the start date. Once you’ve booked your flights, be sure to share your arrival details in the Manage My Booking area so we can coordinate your pick-up. If you’re arriving outside these times, don’t worry, we can help you arrange a private transfer at your own cost. Our team will give you all the details you need to meet your driver and get to your accommodation safely and smoothly. All in-country transport throughout your trip is included, so you can relax and enjoy the journey. We handle transfers between hotels, activity locations, and any pre-arranged excursions, using buses, trains, and boats where needed. Each tour page lists the correct airport to fly into and out of, so you’ll know exactly where to arrive and depart. If you're still unsure, just chat to the team!
Luggage & Packing
Pack light, pack smart, and be ready for anything. Bring versatile clothing for warm days, cooler evenings, and temple visits. A sturdy backpack or suitcase works fine, and you’ll have opportunities to do laundry along the way. Don’t forget essentials like chargers, travel documents, and a good pair of walking shoes for exploring
Flights
Flights are not included in the trip price and will need to be booked separately. We recommend securing your place on the trip before booking flights, as availability and dates can sometimes change and flight prices can fluctuate. Once your place is confirmed, our team is happy to help with advice on the best airports to fly into, typical routes, and timings to ensure your arrival runs smoothly.
Visa & Vaccinations
Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality and the country you are visiting. Some destinations allow certain nationals to enter visa-free for a limited period, while others may require a visa on arrival or in advance. It is your responsibility to check the latest visa and entry requirements before travelling. You can do this via the relevant embassy or consulate website, or reach out to our team for guidance. We also recommend checking with your GP or a travel health clinic for advice on vaccinations and other health precautions for the country you are visiting. Make sure to arrange any required vaccinations well in advance to ensure a smooth start to your trip.
Group Leaders
Who are the group leaders? Your group leader is your go-to guide, mentor, and ultimate problem-solver while on tour. They know everything from hidden local spots to the best places to eat, and are there to make sure your trip runs smoothly. Think of them as your travel BFF who’s got your back 24/7. How big are the groups? Groups are kept small and social, usually between 12 and 22 travellers, so it’s easy to bond and make friends for life. You’ll meet people from all over the world, all sharing the same love of adventure and discovery. Can I get in touch with my group or leader before the trip? Yes! Around two weeks before your tour, your group leader will be added to your group WhatsApp. You’ll also be able to connect with your fellow travellers in our private destination-specific community so you can start sharing tips, hype, and travel excitement before you even arrive.
