Day
1
Canggu
Welcome to Bali
That first blast of warm air as you step off the plane can only mean one thing... you’ve finally made it! After touching down in Bali, we'll head to Canggu, where beach clubs, black sand beaches and surfers are all part of everyday life. Take some time to settle into the hotel and cool off in the pool, or wander down to the beach for your very first taste of Bali. If you've got room after the flight, this is also the perfect excuse to grab your first nasi goreng or fresh coconut. This evening, we'll all get together for a welcome dinner. Great food, plenty of laughs and the perfect chance to meet your new travel family before 15 unforgettable days exploring one of the world's favourite islands.

Whether you're catching your very first wave or already know your way around a board, you're guaranteed to come away with a smile. The afternoon is yours to enjoy. Escape to the Highlands
Today we're heading into the heart of Bali. Our first stop is the famous Tegallalang Rice Terraces, where emerald-green fields stretch across the hillsides in one of the island's most iconic landscapes. Soak up the views and snap a few photos before we continue our journey. Next, it's time for a little relaxation at Cretya Pool Bar. With infinity pools overlooking the rice terraces, it's the perfect place to cool off and enjoy one of Bali's most beautiful settings. Before arriving in Kintamani, we'll stop by a local coffee plantation to learn how some of Bali's favourite coffees are grown and roasted, with the chance to sample a few along the way. As we climb higher into the mountains, you'll notice the air getting cooler and the views becoming even more spectacular.

Sunrise from the Summit
The only thing worth getting out of bed this early for? This. We'll set off under a sky full of stars to hike to the summit of Mount Batur in the dark, arriving just in time to watch the first light begin to spread across Lake Batur and Bali's volcanic landscape. Watching the sunrise from above the clouds is a pretty special way to start the day. After a light breakfast cooked using the volcano's natural steam, we'll make our way back down before heading to Ubud, Bali's cultural heart. Spend the afternoon slowing the pace, exploring the town or simply enjoying a well-earned rest after this morning's adventure.

Cheeky Monkeys & Hidden Falls
Get ready to discover two of Ubud's most iconic experiences… We'll start at the famous Monkey Forest, home to hundreds of playful macaques and beautiful ancient temples hidden beneath the jungle canopy. They're brilliant to watch, full of personality and always up to something, so keep your sunglasses and snacks close by! Next, it's time to chase waterfalls. We'll visit either Kanto Lampo, where water tumbles over dramatic rock formations, or Tibumana, a hidden jungle oasis surrounded by towering palms. Pack your swimwear if you'd like to cool off beneath the falls or simply sit back and enjoy one of Bali's most peaceful spots before heading back to Ubud.

Gili T
Horses of Gili T
We’re making our way over to one of Indonesia’s most-loved little islands today, welcome to Gili T! Today is one of those experiences that makes this trip a little different. We'll head behind the scenes at Gili T Horse Sanctuary, where you'll hear the horses' stories, meet the passionate team behind the sanctuary and discover the incredible work they're doing to give these horses a second chance.  The sanctuary cares for horses that have been rescued, retired or are recovering from injury, while also working with the local community to improve welfare standards across Gili T. It's a fascinating insight into a side of Gili T that most visitors never experience, while showing how one small sanctuary is making a big difference for the island's horses.

Weather

No matter when you visit, Bali shines all year round. Expect warm temperatures, tropical scenery and plenty of sunshine. From April to October, the dry season brings temperatures of 27–32°C, along with blue skies, calm seas and ideal conditions for beach days, island hopping, snorkelling and Bali's famous surf breaks. Visiting between November and March? You'll still enjoy warm temperatures of 26–31°C, with the occasional tropical downpour keeping the island lush and green. The rain usually passes quickly, leaving plenty of time to get back out exploring, while quieter beaches and fewer crowds let you experience a more relaxed side of Bali.

Getting There

Starts

Your Bali Experience begins at Bali Denpasar Airport (DPS). We recommend booking a flight that lands between 9:00am and 5:00pm on Day 1, where your local guide will be waiting in the arrivals hall with a FurtherTravel sign (you won't miss them!). If possible, we'd recommend arriving earlier in the day to give yourself time to settle into the hotel before the evening orientation and your first night with the group. Please note that Bali's traffic can be unpredictable, so we don't recommend arriving too late. If your flight arrives outside of the recommended pickup window, you'll need to make your own way to the hotel. Don't worry though – your local guide will be on hand in the group chat to help you arrange this. Arriving a day early? Let us know! We'd be happy to recommend somewhere to stay near the airport. You can then either return to the airport during the pickup window or meet the group at the hotel.

Ends

Your Bali Experience finishes at your hotel in Seminyak on Day 15. We recommend booking a flight that departs after 12:00pm on your final day, giving you plenty of time to check out and make your own way to Bali Denpasar Airport (DPS) after your final night celebrating with the group. If you're continuing your travels, Bali is also a great place to extend your adventure, so feel free to ask us for recommendations before you go!

FAQ's
Solo? Couple? Friends?
Most of our travellers are solo, so joining a group tour is a great way to meet like-minded people and make new friends along the way. Travelling alone gives you flexibility, the chance to connect with others, and the freedom to follow your own adventure. If you’re coming with a friend or partner, just let us know when you book. We’ll make sure you’re paired together in the same room so you can enjoy the trip side by side.
Accommodation
On your trip, you’ll stay in comfortable twin-share hotel rooms, paired with another traveller from your tour. Forget hostels, our hand-picked hotels offer privacy, comfort, and a touch of luxury, with air conditioning or fans, reliable WiFi, and many featuring pools, gyms, or chill-out spaces. It’s the perfect base to relax after a day of exploring, making new friends, and living your adventure to the fullest.
Free Time
While our programmes are full of unforgettable experiences, there’s still plenty of time built in to relax, explore, or do your own thing. Whether you want to lounge on a beach, wander through local markets, try out a new cafe, or just take a quiet afternoon for yourself, the choice is yours. Your guides are always happy to share insider tips and recommend hidden gems, so you can make the most of every free moment. Free time is your chance to explore at your own pace, discover local culture, and create memories that are completely your own.
Arrival & Transfers
We provide an airport transfer on the day your trip begins. To make things easy, aim to arrive between 9am and 5pm on the start date. Once you’ve booked your flights, be sure to share your arrival details in the Manage My Booking area so we can coordinate your pick-up. If you’re arriving outside these times, don’t worry, we can help you arrange a private transfer at your own cost. Our team will give you all the details you need to meet your driver and get to your accommodation safely and smoothly. All in-country transport throughout your trip is included, so you can relax and enjoy the journey. We handle transfers between hotels, activity locations, and any pre-arranged excursions, using buses, trains, and boats where needed. Each tour page lists the correct airport to fly into and out of, so you’ll know exactly where to arrive and depart. If you're still unsure, just chat to the team!
Pre and Post Tour
If you’re arriving early or staying on after your programme, we can help make the most of your extra time. Extra nights of accommodation before the tour starts can be booked easily through us, just get in touch with our team. Planning to continue your adventure once your trip ends? Our travel experts can offer advice on the best destinations, routes, and experiences to extend your journey, so you can explore confidently and make the most of your time abroad.
Flights
Flights are not included in the trip price and will need to be booked separately. We recommend securing your place on the trip before booking flights, as availability and dates can sometimes change and flight prices can fluctuate. Once your place is confirmed, our team is happy to help with advice on the best airports to fly into, typical routes, and timings to ensure your arrival runs smoothly.
Luggage & Packing
Pack light, pack smart, and be ready for anything. Bring versatile clothing for warm days, cooler evenings, and temple visits. A sturdy backpack or suitcase works fine, and you’ll have opportunities to do laundry along the way. Don’t forget essentials like chargers, travel documents, and a good pair of walking shoes for exploring
Money
The local currency in Bali is the Indonesian Rupiah (IDR). ATMs are widely available in towns and tourist areas, and most shops, restaurants, and hotels accept cards, though smaller markets and rural areas often prefer cash. It’s a good idea to carry a mix of cash and cards to cover meals, drinks, souvenirs, and optional activities. For convenience and to avoid high foreign exchange fees, many travellers use a travel card such as Wise or Revolut. This allows you to pay in local currency with minimal charges, and you can also withdraw cash from ATMs if needed.
Best Time to Travel
Bali enjoys warm tropical weather all year round, making it a great destination no matter when you visit. The dry season runs from April to September, offering plenty of sunshine, while the wet season from October to March brings short, refreshing tropical showers that rarely last all day. Even during the wet season, you can expect warm temperatures and plenty of opportunities to explore beaches, rice terraces, and temples. No matter when you travel, our tours are designed to make the most of the local weather, so you’ll always enjoy a mix of adventure, culture, and relaxation.
Visa & Vaccinations
Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality and the country you are visiting. Some destinations allow certain nationals to enter visa-free for a limited period, while others may require a visa on arrival or in advance. It is your responsibility to check the latest visa and entry requirements before travelling. You can do this via the relevant embassy or consulate website, or reach out to our team for guidance. We also recommend checking with your GP or a travel health clinic for advice on vaccinations and other health precautions for the country you are visiting. Make sure to arrange any required vaccinations well in advance to ensure a smooth start to your trip.
Can anyone climb Mount Batur?
Absolutely! Mount Batur is suitable for anyone with a moderate fitness level. The sunrise trek takes around 2–3 hours, offering breathtaking views at the summit. It’s mildly challenging but completely worth it and our experienced local guide will be there to support you every step of the way.
Food
Bali’s food scene is amazing! Expect a delicious mix of authentic Indonesian dishes, local Balinese specialties, and international favorites. Try classics like: Nasi Goreng: Indonesian fried rice topped with a fried egg Mie Goreng: fried noodles packed with flavor Bali offers an amazing mix of traditional Indonesian cuisine and international options, so you’ll have plenty to try during your trip. Expect local favourites such as Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Mie Goreng (fried noodles), and fresh tropical fruits. Many meals are included on your itinerary, but there will also be opportunities to explore local cafés, warungs, and restaurants on your own. Vegetarian, vegan, and milder options are widely available, so dietary preferences are easy to cater for. For a full guide to which meals are included on your tour, check the day-by-day itinerary on your tour page.
Group Leaders
Who are the group leaders? Your group leader is your go-to guide, mentor, and ultimate problem-solver while on tour. They know everything from hidden local spots to the best places to eat, and are there to make sure your trip runs smoothly. Think of them as your travel BFF who’s got your back 24/7. How big are the groups? Groups are kept small and social, usually between 12 and 22 travellers, so it’s easy to bond and make friends for life. You’ll meet people from all over the world, all sharing the same love of adventure and discovery. Can I get in touch with my group or leader before the trip? Yes! Around two weeks before your tour, your group leader will be added to your group WhatsApp. You’ll also be able to connect with your fellow travellers in our private destination-specific community so you can start sharing tips, hype, and travel excitement before you even arrive.
