FAQs

The Most Common Camp Bali Questions

Can I spread the payment cost?

We offer 2 flexible payment options šŸ™Œ

You can either:

  • Pay a Ā£99 deposit to secure your place on the programme. Make payments towards your trip, as you like. As long as 50% of your tour balance is paid 4 months before travel and the remaining at least 2 month before departure.
  • Pay the programme fees in full and save Ā£50! (this only includes our 3-week programmes!)
Will I have access to WiFi?

Yes, you will. There’s WIFI available at almost all bars, accommodations and restaurants. However, please be aware that you are in south east Asia and sometimes the WIFI may be slow!

If you want consistently reliable WIFI, we recommend bringing an unlocked smart phone and purchasing a local sim card. Data packages can be purchased reasonably cheap.

Can I come alone or do I have to come with a friend?

If you come alone, you’re guaranteed to leave with friends. Most of our participants do come alone so most people will be in the same boat as you; looking to have an amazing time and to meet other people.

A few months before you depart we also make a Facebook group which we’ll add you into, so you’ll get the chance to chat in there before you arrive. If you do want to come with friends, that’s completely fine too.

Why not check our our ā€œRefer A Friendā€ scheme? You could save Ā£50 off your program fees for each friend you bring!

How much spending money should I bring?

It’s difficult to give an exact figure for this question as it really does change from person to person, depending upon how much of a baller you are!

We usually say around Ā£200-Ā£250 per week. However, you can spend less – Bali is fairly cheap.

Of course, if you choose to do lots of extra excursions in your free time, have cocktails most nights and go out a lot, you will obviously spend a bit more.

Should I bring a backpack or a suitcase?

We usually recommend bringing a backpack. As you will be travelling around a lot, it’s much easier to carry around when you’re getting on and off buses and boats.

For example, with Camp Island Hopping, you go to Bali, Ubud, Seminyak and Nusa Penida.

It’s amazing you get to see a lot of different places, so carrying a backpack would probably be easier than lugging a suitcase around. It’s up to your personal preference though and our program can accommodate both options.

What should I pack for Camp Bali?

You will receive a packing list as part of the ā€˜Pre-Departure pack’ which you will be sent prior to leaving for Camp Bali, but here are just a few items we recommend taking;

  • Mosquito spray
  • Sun cream
  • Warm weather clothing
  • Swimwear
  • A camera to capture all your amazing experiences

You will also want to bring your own towel and washcloth as only bed linens are provided at camp

What else do I need to do Camp Bali?

You will need to purchase Personal Travel Insurance, covering the time you will be in Bali plus any activities that you will be undertaking, as well as any planned travel to other countries.

A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Check. If you are a UK national, Camp Bali will arrange your DBS check for you for a fee of £52.86.

If you are coming from another country you will need to contact your local police department and initiate the process yourself to get the DBS equivalent from your country.

If you are from another country and would like some guidance, feel free to call our office on 0161 222 3780. Please note that even if you already hold a DBS certificate, unfortunately, we must still conduct our own check.

You will need to complete some documentation for your trip and this will be guided through after you book

Are flights included?

Flights are not included in the program fees but we do have a great flight team that can help with getting these booked.

You can also book these independently following our arrival and departure information.

Do I get to meet my group before we go to Camp?

Here at HQ we make a custom facebook group chat for your group along with your reps around 4-5 weeks before your departure. Here you will be able to chat with your new friends for life! šŸ™ˆ

When will I get my Camp t-shirt?

As part of our Camp programs, you will receive 2 Camp t-shirts, these will be with you around 2 weeks before your Camp start date so we can be sure you don’t forget to bring these with you ā¤ļø

You will also have the option to buy extra t-shirts or hoodies before you leave.

What happens if I can’t come to Camp Bali?

If you have not yet secured your spot with a deposit then we can defer your acceptance offer up to 2 years.

After you have secured your place on the program we advise getting travel insurance to cover any unexpected events resulting in not being able to attend camp.

With our flexible booking policyĀ we can move your trip date up to 2 years from your original departure date, we can even change your Camp location if you fancy. If you did not wish to defer your place you can check out our T&C’s for all the applicable cancellation chargesĀ HERE!

Will I need vaccinations?

Here at HQ, we may be Bali experts but we cannot advise on vaccinations as we are not medical professionals. Our best advice is to head over to your GP and tell them about your awesome trip and they can advise what you need.
